Beautiful Makeup! Where it all begins....

Beauty begins within you. You have to take care of your body. Make better food choices (I’m still working on that) and drink lots of water. Give it a try and watch your skin change in the process. The next thing is properly cleaning your skin on a regular basis. Everyone’s skin type is different and it’s a matter of finding products that work for you. I have spent a lot of money trying different products, trying to get my skin to look like the filtered/edited YouTubers, all to come back to a drug store product that works wonders.

There is one thing that I purchased that I absolutely love and don’t know how I was able to live without it for so long. My friends and family alike will tell you that I recommend this item like I’m getting paid to do so. lol This tool my friend is the Vanity Planet cleansing brush. When I wear makeup I use it twice a day, but when I don’t wear makeup I use it only once a day (I’m lazy). I am aware that there are several similar products on the market and they can be very expensive. I’m sure they all work well, but I’m not spending $200 on a cleansing brush when I can get the same results from one that cost $30.

The holy grail cleanser that I use is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I first starting using it because my last cleanser had started to irritate my skin. I initially gave the Cetaphil a 30 trial. It cleared my skin up so fast and it was so soft. Once I clean my face with the cleansing brush using the Cetaphil cleanser I go over it with Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel is used as a toner and it helps to control the oils in my skin and it’s an astringent. Typically I apply the witch hazel using a cotton round. However they do sell the Witch Hazel pads that I plan to try for traveling. After the Witch Hazel is applied, I apply some good ole’ Aloe Vera Gel. Aloe helps soften your skin and supplies oxygen to your cells, strengthening the tissue to create vibrant skin. Finally I apply moisturizer. It is so important to moisturize your skin, but you have to find a good moisturizer for your skin type. I use Oil of Olay and have used it for over 10 years now. It doesn’t work for everyone, but I’ve tried different brands and always come back to Oil of Olay. It just works for me. You should definitely figure out what works best for your skin. This is my daily routine that I do 1 to 2 times a day. It should be done twice a day (morning and night), but as I said earlier in this post…I’m lazy. lol

pixlrI hope this helps someone. I get a lot of questions about skin care and thought this would be a perfect first beauty blog post.

If you have any blog post suggestions please let me know.

Peace and love,
